D.D.S., D.ABDSM
Dr. Alamin Karim has over 11 years of experience as a general and emergency dentist in the public health setting.
After being diagnosed with OSA in early 2020, he discovered dentists could help treat Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA) and provide an alternative to CPAP. He immediately signed up to obtain the specialized training needed to become an Oral Appliance Therapy provider. After completing his training and receiving certification to provide Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT), he also completed the certification program to become a diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine (D.ABDSM), the highest and most comprehensive certification possible.
Since obtaining his D.ABDSM certification, he has also received additional hours of Dental Sleep Medicine (DSM) education.
To remain current on the latest advances in sleep medicine and dentistry, to understand the root cause of Obstructive Sleep Apnea, and to provide the up to date treatment options, he has been continuing learning by attending seminars, webinars, and lectures. He has received an additional 100 + hours of education in 2022 alone; he is passionate about helping people improve their quality of life by providing access to effective treatments for Obstructive Sleep Apnea. Besides, he is also trained and certified to release tongue ties and treat the soft palate with a CO2 laser.
